Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) syllabus and modules in India are regulated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The Propeller Systems module covers propeller types, components, performance, and maintenance in-depth. It includes theoretical and practical aspects, addressing design, certification, inspection, maintenance, and repair procedures, fostering a comprehensive understanding of propeller technologies.
The DGCA AME course syllabus typically covers the following modules:
- Module 1 – Mathematics
- Module 2- Physics
- Module 3 – Electrical Fundamentals
- Module 4- Electronic Fundamentals
- Module 5- Digital Techniques Electronic Instrument System
- Module 6-Materials and Hardware
- Module 7- Maintenance Practices
- Module 8-Basic Aerodynamics
- Module 9- Human Factors
- Module 10- Aviation Legislation
- Module 11A- Turbine Aeroplane Aerodynamics, Structures and Systems
- Module 11B-Piston Aeroplane Aerodynamics, Structures and Systems
- Module 12- Helicopter Aerodynamics, Structures and System
- Module 13-Aircraft Aerodynamics , Structures and System
- Module 14- Propulsion
- Module 15- Gas Turbine Engine
- Module 16- Piston Engine
- Module 17-Propeller
For AME b1.1 students has to study 11 modules like Module no. 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11A , 15 , 17 .
For AME b2 students has to study 10 modules like Module no. 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 13 , 14.
These subjects are usually divided into theoretical and practical training. Students also typically undergo on-the-job training and gain hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing aircraft.
