Know all about the process of an Airline to hire Pilots

The Airline looks at everything in their pilot while hiring, such as past employment, schools, flying hours, background checks, community involvement, your attitude, your professionalism. It all matters while one is giving an interview for the post of a pilot. 

The Pilot course is sub-categorized into 2 parts:-

  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
  • Private Pilot License (PPL)

Let’s start to explain the detailed information about both sub-categorized pilot licenses are given below:- 

  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

    A commercial pilot is a person who operates the aircraft and is paid for his/her work. The duration of this course is 3 years.

  • Private pilot license (PPL)

    A private pilot license is required by those candidates whose hobby is to fly the airplane. The duration of this course is 6 months.

Eligibility for the Pilot Course

In order to pursue the Pilot Course, the candidates must make sure that they are eligible enough. Furthermore, one can find the eligibility criteria below:

  • Candidates should have qualified for his/ her 12th board examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • The applicant must have passed the 10th examination with the recognized board.
  • The students must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the 10th board examination.
  • The candidates should have scored an aggregate of 50% marks in the 12th board examination.
  • Students should have excellent knowledge of the mathematics subject.
  • The age limit is a minimum of 17 years old.
  • Candidates should not have any physical ability.

 

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three different stages:

  1. Interview Phase
  2. Tests Phase
  3. Medical Phase 

Detailed information about the above selection process is given below:-

  • Interview Phase

    During the interview, they asked very obvious questions about myself, school, and the future. They want to make sure that the candidate is able to complete the pilot training without any problem.

  • Tests Phase

    During the tests phase, the authorities test the candidate’s intelligence and the talent to fly. This test phase is different in every school but it will all consist of intelligence tests, maths tests, physics tests, multitasking tests, test prioritizing tests, and a lot more. Sometimes the candidates will have to actually fly in the simulator and make calculations in the meantime.

  • Medical Phase

    During the medical test, the authorities check color blindness, heart, urine, blood, make different eye tests, and a lot more.

 

This was the selection process prior to starting the integrating pilot training. This process is not the same in every pilot training school and as well as different in every country also.
