Both of the careers, Aeronautical Engineering and AME are very good at their places. However, they are very different from each other. Let us know about both of them individually.

Aeronautical Engineering:-

Aeronautical Engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on the study of the design, construction, maintenance of several aircraft and their components. It is one of the most popular branches of Engineering. Candidates, who tend to learn about the working of the airplane and its mechanism can go for Aeronautical Engineering. Furthermore, after the completion of the study in this field, the candidates have the potential of getting a job in one of the most reputed organizations with a package of around 5-6 lakhs per annum. However, the amount of the package ranges with the skills a candidate has, the organization, etc.

AME:-

AME is a shortened term for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. The AMEs make sure that all the aircraft are in perfect condition, troubleshooting the problems of an aircraft. The AME Course is a 4-year license program that includes 2-year academic and 2 years of practical training in the live environment. This course deals with training the candidates about ensuring the safety of the aircraft and its passengers. Furthermore, without the approval of AME, no airplane can take off. If done from one of the most recognized AME Institutes in India, one can bag a job in one of the best organizations with a salary package of INR 40 lakhs per annum varying from organization to organization, one’s skills, etc.

In Conclusion:-

If we compare both of the fields together, AME seems better as it holds so much scope in the future. Additionally, the potential of earning in this field is more as compared to Aeronautical Engineering. Also, taking a look at the job potential in AME, in the future, 431100 new commercial aircraft will be ordered that will spike the requirement of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. As, in one aircraft, a minimum of 100 AMEs is required.
