The process of admission to a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) differs from university to university. Some universities hold entrance tests like CUET, IPU CET, SET, or university-level tests to evaluate the mathematics aptitude, logical reasoning, and computer skills of the candidates. These tests enable universities to choose students on the basis of merit and readiness for the course. Government and premier private universities tend to adopt this practice to ensure a competitive admission process.
But most colleges and universities provide direct admission into BCA programs depending on the marks applicants receive in 12th standard, with an average minimum percentage in mathematics or computer science. Interviews and personal evaluations are also considered by some institutions. Private universities and deemed universities will mostly have this merit-based admission process. Hence, candidates must look for the respective universities' admission criteria to identify whether they need to sit for an entrance test or if they can get admitted based on performance in academics.
