Ques: Are there entrance exams for B.El.Ed. admissions?

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) admission in India usually involves the candidates clearing entrance examinations held by different universities and state education boards. For example, Delhi University administers the DUET (Delhi University Entrance Test) to admit students to B.El.Ed., evaluating the students on language skills, reasoning, general knowledge, and teaching ability. There are entrance examinations specific to some states, such as Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, while others make use of centralized tests like CUET.

But not all colleges require entrance tests. Certain private colleges and some universities follow merit-based selections based on a candidate's Class 12 grades, typically insisting on a minimum of 50% (exceptions are made for reserved categories). Admission requirements are different in every college, and so candidates have to refer to particular university conditions. Some colleges also hold interviews or counseling rounds after entrance exams for making the final selections. Entrance tests, however, are more prevalent than any other path, but the second option also stands for aspirant candidates.
