The multi-disciplinary B.Sc Agriculture degree encompasses various fields of agricultural sciences including crop production, soil science, and agricultural economics. From a historical perspective, Biology has always been a prerequisite for an Agri-based course, but nowadays a lot of universities have started accepting students not having Biology like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their background and completed higher secondary schooling with these subjects.
In India and various other countries, there is no standard set of eligibility criteria; however, a majority of the universities accept students from the science stream having studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a rest and general science focus at school. Students coming from these backgrounds will have to make up for the deficit of Biology knowledge through supplementary education, especially in subjects such as botany or environmental science which are vital parts of the syllabus. Some universities might even provide non-biology college students with adequate biological bridge courses before agriculture-related subjects. So, you can pursue B.Sc Agriculture even without Biology, but make sure that you adhere to the particular conditions set by the institutions of your choice.
