The length of an MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course differs based on the educational pattern adopted by various universities. MCA was a three-year postgraduate course traditionally, available to students who had passed a BSc, BCom, or BA with Mathematics as a subject. But with the introduction of the New Education Policy (NEP) in India, most universities have shortened the course to two years, bringing it in line with other postgraduate courses.
The MCA course is intended to equip students with in-depth understanding of computer applications, software development, and IT management. It covers topics such as data structures, algorithms, database management, networking, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
