Mathematics is not strictly a must for entry into a B.Com CMA. However, this again depends on the university or institution. Many colleges accept students from commerce background with subjects such as accountancy, economics, and business studies, even though they did not have mathematics at high school level. However, having mathematics will be helpful, since CMA deals with financial analysis, cost management, and budgeting that requires numerical competency.
Some universities require mathematics as a prerequisite, especially for students from non-commerce backgrounds. If you do not have mathematics, then it is recommended to check the admission criteria of your chosen institution. Even if it is not compulsory, students with strong mathematical skills may find CMA coursework easier because it involves quantitative methods, financial data interpretation, and cost control strategies. Mathematics is not usually a necessity for B.Com CMA, although it does favor success in it and further profession.
