The B.El.Ed. (Bachelor of Elementary Education) is a four-year integrated professional degree course for those who wish to become elementary school teachers. It is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the body that oversees the maintenance of standards in teacher education. This course is offered by numerous universities and colleges all over India so that graduates are well-equipped according to the required qualifications to be teachers at the elementary level (Classes 1-8).
