BSc in Hospitality Studies, BSc HS is an undergraduate course for the students who wish to pursue the hospitality and tourism industry. Eligibility criteria pass 10+2 (Class 12) or equivalent exam from a recognized board with 50% aggregate marks (minimum percentage may be different in every institution). Mostly all the colleges accept students of any stream; however, there is a compulsion of taking English as one of the main subjects. The students also might need to pass the entrance exam or qualify for a personal interview administered by the university.
The admission procedure differs with some institutes allowing merit-based selection, while others conduct entrance exams like NCHM JEE, state-level exams, or institute-specific tests. A few colleges also take into account the extracurricular achievements or relevant experience in the hospitality industry. International students have to furnish proof of equivalent qualifications and sometimes English language proficiency through IELTS or TOEFL depending on the requirement of the universities.
