The period of LLB (Bachelor of Laws) studies varies according to specific national educational rules. In India a traditional LLB program takes a span of three years following completion of an undergraduate degree. Students who begin their studies right after finishing high school can enroll in the integrated five-year law programs which include BA LLB as well as BBA LLB and BSc LLB. Students seeking an LLB degree at a United Kingdom university must complete a three-year program but educational institutions also provide four-year programs which can include placement opportunities or study abroad experiences.
The LLB program does not receive regular admission at educational institutions across the United States. After an undergraduate education students must enroll in Juris Doctor (JD) studies that span for three traditional academic years. Australian institutions and Canadian universities provide different time frames for their programs between three to four years that specify whether students are studying undergraduate or graduate levels. The accelerated programs at universities shorten the duration of studies.
