The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with CMA, or Certified Management Accountant, is a 3-year undergraduate program that helps integrate commerce education with professional certification in CMA. The curriculum is divided into six semesters, which encompass core commerce subjects such as accounting, taxation, finance, and business management in addition to getting students ready to take the exams conducted by either the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), depending upon the country.
The program is usually completed in two levels of CMA certification: Foundation and Intermediate for ICAI or Part 1 and Part 2 for IMA. B.Com and CMA can be integrated to provide students with dual qualifications, which can improve career prospects in cost management, financial analysis, and corporate accounting. Some universities offer accelerated options, where the student can complete the CMA along with the degree. The course equips graduates with both academic knowledge and professional expertise, making them highly competitive in the job market.
