What is the profile of an AME?

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is the one who is responsible for maintaining the aircraft, spotting its issues, and fixing them. Furthermore, the profile of an AME includes the responsibility to make sure the safety and security of an aircraft. However, no aircraft can take off without the approval of a licensed AME. The course of an AME is an international program that is regulated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt of India. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is divided into certain streams. The candidates who have pursued the AME course from one of the most recognized AME Colleges in India will have the most opportunities in the future.

- Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Engineer:-
The responsibilities of an AME are to repair, troubleshoot the problems, inspect and upgrade the airplanes. Furthermore, an AME has to oversee the airport and approve of it flying, only then it can take off.
- Aircraft Technician:-
The functions of an Aircraft Technician include maintaining and repairing every type of aircraft, ie, planes, helicopters, etc.
- Technical Services Engineer:-
The Technical Services Engineers solve the network issues, configure the operating systems and use the remote desktop connections for immediate support.
- Graduate Engineering Trainee:-
The responsibilities of a graduate Engineering trainee include doing the tasks given by the supervisor, helping the other engineers with their projects, conducting research, etc.
- Production Planning Engineer:-
The Production Planning Engineer’s responsibilities include explaining the assembling of the products on the production line, ensuring the correct quantity of the components/ products, and supporting the speed of the production line.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Salary
The AME is one of the jobs that pay a huge amount of salary. However, the salary ranges from organization to organization and it depends on the skills of the person. Furthermore, the stipend of an AME ranges from INR 15000 to 25000 per month. After getting the license, the AME’s salary is approximately 40 lakhs per annum.
